The only thing I'm excited for with the iPad
This hit me on the way home today.
Really stemmed from thinking about how I’ll entertain my brother on long trips in my HHR. He has Fragile X Syndrome and likes to be entertained on longer drives by watching DVDs. Our Traverse has a DVD player so he loves it.
Then it hit me.
The iPad is perfect for people with disabilities. The accessibility features, uses, and the form factor all work well for this.
Starting with form factor: the size is great for someone like my brother. It’s large enough for him to hold, especially with the bezel on it. The screen provides a large enough screen for him to use and type on. It’s great for use by him.
The accesibilty features are pretty much a given.
And the uses? Think paint. Think games. Think movie. Think speech. Everything. It’s the perfect thing.
Top albums
1 Brand New - Daisy This band will always be amazing. While this album may not be on par with The Devil And God or Deja Entendu it’s still amazing. They took a different approach to this album, sharing the songwriting more than before and it came out amazing. The lyrics may not be as strong as they were before but the music is still amazing. If an album still gives me chills to this day I know it’s amazing. 2 Manchester Orchestra - Mean Everything To Nothing Mind you, it’s pretty much that 1-2-3 could all be at the top. It was hard to choose. This album, while epic, just didn’t have the same effect on me as Daisy. MO is an amazing band and they’re going to be huge. And to think none of us would know who they are if it weren’t for Brand New. 3 Gallows - Grey Britain There’s nothing like angry punk rock. Pretty much sums up this album. It’s been a while since there was an album that made me want to do something about how shitty this country is. This album did that. 4 Emery - … In Shallow Seas We Sail Just an overall tight album. And the title track is amazing. 5 Alexisonfire - Old Crows/Young Cardinals Much like Grey Britain this album made me want to get up and do something; make my voice be heard. Although not as tight as their prior albums this is still great. 6 Thrice - Beggars Thrice took a huge chance with this album and they fucking owned. They left the hardcore scene behind for this album but damn, they’re amazing. You can hear a bit of all the bands they toured with this year, especially Brand New. 7 Rancid - Let The Dominoes Fall It’s always nice to have an old favorite on the list. Rancid came back strong after a weak Indestructible, looking back to …And Out Come The Wolves and Let’s Go while looking forward. There’s an entire acoustic disc included with the deluxe edition. This is a new Rancid, re-invigorated and excited for what’s to come. 8 Silverstein - A Shipwreck In The Sand After their last album sucked - hell, I can’t even recall the title of that album - Silverstein came out with an amazing record. This one surprised me becuase I didn’t expect them to come back so strong. 9 Thursday - Common Existence It’s Thursday. I can’t stop loving this band. While they seem to have fallen into a rut with the same style on the past two albums I still love what they do. Just give me a bit more War All The Time and I’ll be thrilled. 10 Every Time I Die - New Junk Aesthetic They melt your face. They make you laugh your balls off. ‘Nuff said. 11 AFI - Crash Love Now this one surprised me. I’ve always been a fan of AFI but decemberunderground made me cringe. This album, even with it’s ridiculous R&B album art, is amazing. They’re doing straightforward rock while incorporating more of their punk past. Great album for both new and old fans of AFI. 12 Atreyu - Congregation of the damned I really don’t know what to say about this band. Drop the Metallica shit and make some fucking amazing hardcore songs like those on The Curse and Death-grip. Half of this album sucks. 13 Taking Back Sunday - New Again The band came back with a good album - they haven’t had a good one since Tell All Your Friends - but they still need more. 14 The Bravery - Stir the blood Great band but I loved the last album. This seems like a step back. 15 Dashboard Confessional - Alter the ending It’s Dashboard. It’s just good. Not as good as past stuff but still good.
I realize I haven't had much to say here
Not much time to write anything.
I’m sure I’ll figure something out.
When I pass a bunch of women in leather bodysuits, knee-high leather boots, and lots of makeup on everyone...
I know I’m in an awesome hotel.
Just so happens that where I’m staying hosted DomCon Atlanta this weekend.

More Batting Averages
Enjoy this. It only confirms what we all already know.

- A.J. - .331
- Pods - .311
- Getz - .287
- Beckham - .284
- Kotsay - .279
- Cuban Missle - .267
- PK - .247

- Thome - .240
- Quentin - .238
- Nix - .233
- Wise - .222
- Dye - .166
- Fields - .154
- Rios - .144
As if it’s not obvious - Dye needs to be gone after this year and Rios is awful. I have no hope for Rios to turn it around. Hell, Wise and Fields have better averages and they don’t face as many pitches as Rios.
So much time on my hands
And not sure what do with it all.
I’m considering doing a stream on ustream for an hour or so each day - or some schedule - but I don’t know what topic to cover.
Any ideas?
Weekend from hell
I don’t think there’s much outside of death that could make this weekend worse than it was.
Saturday was great outside of the car accident. That’s a headache I don’t need.
Sunday was decent…I guess.
And tonight I found out that I can’t work anymore because of stupid student employment rules and cocksuckers who have no soul.
Just so you all know...
And if you want it…
I’ve started my White Sox blog in case anyone wants to read it.
